Syncing and Refreshing

Understand how calendar syncing and refreshing works. Find out how often calendars are updated, how to refresh manually, and how to troubleshoot syncing limits or conflict errors.

How often are calendars updated/refreshed/imported?

RentalSummary automatically refreshes your calendars several times per day.
The exact number depends on your account level and activity.

You can also refresh calendars manually at any time using the Refresh link at the top of your summary page.

Why are my calendars not refreshing anymore?

It's most likely because you've reached your daily refresh limit.
Click the Refresh link on your summary page to see a message showing your current usage and limit.
You can upgrade your account to increase the limit.

If you haven't reached your limit, it's possible our system is unable to connect to your iCal due to technical issues with your iCal provider.

Why is there a limit on how many times a day my calendars can be imported/refreshed?

Each refresh checks all your iCal links and re-processes every event.
To keep RentalSummary free and running smoothly for everyone, we apply a fair-use limit based on account type.

Signing up for a free account is the first step to increasing your summary page refresh limit.
After that, please contact support for further upgrades.

My calendars are not up to date on my summary page. How do I manually refresh/import?

Click the Refresh link at the top of your summary page.
It's located next to the small info text that shows when your calendars were last updated.

Why am I getting an error message about conflicts between my calendars?

You may receive an error message when calendars attached to the same property contain overlapping events (such as two bookings at the same time).
This usually happens when calendars from different properties are accidentally grouped under one property.

To resolve this:
1. Check that calendars are properly synced
2. Make sure time zones are set correctly
3. Ensure the same reservation isn't duplicated across calendars
4. Refresh your calendars to confirm the issue still exists
5. Make sure calendars attached to a property are truly for the same property

To remove a calendar from a property:
Click the gear icon at the top right of your summary page to go to settings. From there, delete any calendar that doesn't belong.
